Olympus M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 ED PRO + MC-14

This lens may seem big and heavy until you realize it’s equivalent to a 80-300mm lens on full frame. With the included teleconverter you your reach extends to 210mm or 420mm FF equivalent (only works with this lens! attempt to mount on other lenses will damage it!). With a long lens like this you can … Read more

Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.2 ED PRO

50mm equivalent lenses have a special place in Sebastian’s heart and this is hands down the best 25mm (2x crop factor) lens for m43. Tack sharp wide open, with only minimal color fringing this lens puts most full frame 50mm lenses to shame. A special feature of the PRO Olympus lenses, this lens has a … Read more

Panasonic Lumix 25mm f/1.7

This lens isn’t particularly sharp and doesn’t have very nice bokeh. But it makes up for its shortcomings with how incredibly light it is. Especially on the smaller m43 bodies walking around with this lens instead of one of the heavy zooms is a strangely liberating experience.

Panasonic Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 II Power O.I.S.

This is the m43 equivalent to the 24-70mm professional staple. Only it is tiny! Tack sharp wide open, with very fast autofocus for still photography, what’s not to love! The Optical Image Stabilization comes in handy with cameras lacking IBIS and also assists with IBIS equipped cameras, especially at the long end.

Panasonic Lumix 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S.

This is Sebastian’s choice for a travel zoom. Although lacking some reach compared to the Olympus 12-100mm, this lens is so much lighter that you won’t be tempted to leave the camera in the hotel room. For best edge-to-edge sharpness for landscapes, use f/5.6 at the wide end and f/8 at the long end. The … Read more

Zhongyi 25mm f/0.95 Speedmaster

The best features of this lens are the silky smooth focus and (clickless) aperture rings. Don’t expect clinical sharpness from this lens. This lens is all about character, from the wild out of focus areas to the wonderfully over the top and unique lens flare. The compact size means this lens often finds it’s place … Read more

Laowa 7.5mm f/2 Compact Dreamer

The Laowa 7.5mm f/2 is a rather unknown gem for the m43 mount. It’s small size, weight and surprising image quality make it an excellent addition to any kit. The extreme wide angle and fast aperture combined with the GH5’s in body image stabilization (IBIS) opens up the world of hand held night sky photography! … Read more
